Saltaire Arts Trail will be taking place next year from 5th - 7th May. Join us for a packed weekend of contemporary art and craft, creative family activities and artists film. We will have all of our renowned favourites including the Open Houses and Makers Fair plus new exhibitions and some inspiring surprises.  The full programme is currently being developed, but below is a taster of what to expect.

It promises to be a weekend packed with creativity and inspiration, so come and soak up the bank holiday atmosphere in this historic World Heritage village.

• Open Houses

  

  Each year, the residents of Saltaire’s historic village homes open their doors to the public, playing host to exhibitions in living rooms, kitchens, hallways and stairs.  Step inside, view original work by established artists and discover new talent…then take away the piece you fall in love with.
  

• Makers Fair

  

  Victoria Hall provides a magnificent setting for over 40 independent designer-makers selling a huge variety of quality craft work.  You’ll have the opportunity to chat to the makers, watch demonstrations and see how a spark of inspiration becomes a finished product.
  

• Exhibitions

  

  Interesting art that makes us question and challenge our understanding of the world isn’t the sole preserve of artists in the commercial gallery system.  We’ll be presenting diverse exhibitions in a range of venues to do just that!
  

• Films

  

  Following the success of the mobile cinema at the 2011 event, we’ll be curating more artists films throughout the bank holiday weekend.  Watch this space for more details coming soon.
  

• Family Events

  

  Roll up, roll up!  There's all the fun of the fair at the Arts Trail this year as we take on a fairground theme, with lots of arts and craft activities for under 10s to get stuck in to.
