The Saltaire Arts Trail is an annual visual arts festival showcasing high quality contemporary art and craft in the UNESCO World Heritage village of Saltaire, West Yorkshire. The next Saltaire Arts Trail is 25-27 May 2013 - save the date.
For Saltaire Arts Trail, the residents of Saltaire’s historic village homes open their doors to the public, playing host to exhibitions in living rooms, kitchens, hallways and stairs. As well as Open Houses there’s a Makers’ Fair, art and craft activities for all the family and tonnes of other things to do all weekend. Step inside, view original work by established artists and discover new talent…then take away the piece you fall in love with.
Saltaire Arts Trail iOS and Android app - new for 2013!
This year Saltaire Arts Trail has its own specially commissioned app. Funded by Arts Council England and created with the help of students at Leeds Met University it is an digital counterpart of the brochure. Through the magic of GPS users are guided using their iOS or Android smartphones to every location ‘on the trail’, learn all about the artists or makers involved, preview their work, compile their own list of favourites and even drop into their virtual workshops!
Available for devices running Apple iOS or Google Android the app is a fun addition to what will be a fantastic weekend.

Open Houses
With 13 venues to explore, ranging from the grand homes built to house Salt Mill's executives through to the tiny but perfectly formed workers cottages, Saltaire Arts Trail is a real treat for anyone who likes a nosy through our industrial past. With a wide variety of artists exhibiting some amazing work, Saltaire Arts Trail this year really has come into it's own as a truly unique experience.

Makers Fair
Victoria Hall provides a magnificent setting for over 50 independent designer-makers selling a huge variety of quality craft work. You’ll have the opportunity to chat to the makers, watch demonstrations and see how a spark of inspiration becomes a finished product. We are so excited about this years collection of Makers, we think you're going to love the variety and creativity on show.

Interesting art that makes us question and challenge our understanding of the world isn’t the sole preserve of artists in the commercial gallery system. We’ll be presenting diverse exhibitions in a range of venues to do just that! We'll be adding to the list right up to the last minute so keep your eyes peeled.

Family Events
Prepare for lift off! Creative activities for families are at the heart of Saltaire Arts Trail and we are proud to bring you the biggest selection of FREE hands on art and craft workshops we’ve ever had! Fly Me to the Moon is our theme this year so expect an out of this world experience in the gardens outside Shipley College & Victoria Hall and inside Shipley College Salt Building. Our activities are designed to suit a range of abilities and ages but the best thing is you can do them with your friends and family, come on down and get stuck in!
