| Open Houses
The centre-piece of the Arts Trail, the Open Houses is a magical experience. Grade 2 listed residents’ houses are transformed into unique, stunning galleries showcasing the finest art and craft from across Yorkshire. Sitting rooms, kitchens, hallways and stairs will be filled to bursting with paintings, prints, photographs, textiles, ceramics and sculpture; each house a treasure trove waiting to be uncovered. A treat, the Open Houses entices you into all four corners of the village, encouraging you to investigate the wonderful Italianate architecture, meet some of the residents, and indulge in what comes naturally to many of us, the pleasure of looking round someone else’s home.
