Knitted River
Knitted River
Imagine if you will a 50 metre long, meandering knitted river in greens and blues running through the heart of Saltaire. The Knitted River project is a 4 month long project running between June and September 2008. The final piece, a 50 metre knitted river, will be knitted together using giant knitting needles and displayed at a workshop on the Mini Arts Trail.

We already have over 25ft of the River crocheted together. Visit our facebook page to see pictures in progress.

Download the Knitted River poster (PDF/2.3mb) for more info.

The Knitting Challenge
The Project calls on everyone in the local community to participate and join in. From experienced knitters, closet knitters to knitter-wannabies, the Arts Trail and Knitterati are asking you to take up The Knitting Challenge. All you need to do is knit 10in by 10in squares that can be any shade of green and blue, plain or beautifully embellished.
