Jeanette Slingsby
My work is developed out of the observation of nature plants animals and the sea. Other interests include textiles from around the world and the Art and history of needle work.
Working from home in my studio my most resent work involves creating small ceramic sculptured decorative objects and textile wall hangs. My sculptures are made from porcelain which is very smooth and translucent clay. It has the fluidity of movement to give a good texture and show the detail well. I also add other materials to the clay such as silk, cotton, paper and a variation of yarns. |
