Wychbury
Wychbury is run by Lesley Rhodes and Paula Perrins from the middle of England. We have brought our Textile Art and Jewellery Design together to create a range of wearable accessories, jewellery and artwork that reflects our shared passions.
Our work is inspired by the natural world, ancient sacred sites, the elements, gothic and renaissance design and pagan and medieval imagery. Floral forms and foliage are predominant in many of our pieces with our colours and textures influenced by stained glass, medieval manuscripts, botanical drawings and native plants. We draw from the Pre Raphaelites’ attention to nature’s details and romantic interpretations of historical life and literature.
We research creative methods and mediums that reflect the historical and natural themes of our designs. We use reclaimed and recycled materials as much as possible in all aspects of our work as well as vintage materials and tools. We love lace, velvet, glass, aged metal, clay, pearls and old buttons. Our vintage fair and car-boot finds often inspire new designs in themselves.
Our work is available from our online shops and our stockists: Unique Arts, South Square, Thornton and Cakewalk of Ilkley. We also sell at various events in the Midlands, Shropshire and Yorkshire – our events diary is available on our blog www.wychbury.blogspot.com |
