Sarah Westwood
I graduated Huddersfield University in 2003, with a degree in surface pattern design, since then I have been taking part in exhibitions throughout the country, New Designers, N.A.M.E, and more recently the BCTF at Harrogate.
I am based in Great Fryup Dale, North Yorkshire, my inspiration for my work comes from my surroundings, from the moors to my garden. Starting with sketches and progressing onto layering up images. Once the images have been cut the first layers can be added to the wax. Them wax and paper is built gradually. The top layer is carved into and oil paint is applied. The wax is mixed with a hardener, so it is tactile with a durable finish. |
