myfuroshiki
Fun, Affordable & Eco-Friendly - the myfuroshiki range is inspired by the Japanese tradition of using fabric squares, “furoshiki”, to wrap gifts, create bags and decorate the home.

Furoshiki are said to have been first used in fourteenth century Japan by people going to the bath houses, to wrap up their clothes. Very simple by themselves but so much more in combination; furoshiki form part of the gift and with just one or two simple knots transform even the oddest shaped object. No tearing, no scissors, no sticky tape and no waste. Larger furoshiki can also be used to make bags. Just fold, knot and use … then untie, refold, reknot for a new style!

myfuroshiki is the work of me, Michiko Yasue, and my sister Olivia. I live in West Yorkshire whilst Olivia suns herself in Perth, Australia. myfuroshiki are made from our own designs - cute animal and fabulous floral screen prints and tie-dyed cottons - as well as a selection of gorgeous prints and checks that we have sourced. Complementing these gift wraps and bags are reusable felt gift tags and gift wrap accessories, rosettes and decorative cords.

We are very taken by the idea of helping to spread the use of furoshiki as things which are beautiful in their own right, multi-purpose and environmentally sound. We hope you love our furoshiki and accessories as much as we love designing and making them. Happy wrapping!
