Unique Vintage Remade Accessories and CAKEWALK
Following a degree in Art &Design at Leeds Metropolitan University, I began re- working discarded textile treasures and found objects discovered at flea markets and junk shops into unique accessories and artworks.
An old ballet dress or embroidered tea cosy might be transformed into a handbag with ribbons, buttons, threads and memories from old sewing boxes, full of the histories and redolence of the “Make Do and Mend” era, when everything was precious and reused.
I work to commission, breathing new life into loved but unused or unworn treasures and sell at a selection of Vintage and Maker’s fairs and also at my shop, CAKEWALK in Ilkley.
CAKEWALK is a friendly, independent, artist run SHOP that sells VINTAGE items alongside ART and HANDMADE work, most of which is made by LOCAL ARTISTS AND MAKERS.
We stock clothes, jewellery, textiles, accessories, original prints, cards, ceramics and much more. It’s perfect for unusual and quirky gifts and treats.
